Top Events This Week Across Hawai‘i — June 3–9
This Week in Hawaii — June 3–9, 2026
From Honolulu's waterfront to the Big Island's lava fields, this week's events calendar spans music, culture, ocean sports, and local markets. Here are the top picks across all four counties for the week of June 3–9, 2026.
Oahu
The Pan-Pacific Festival continues through the weekend along Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki, bringing taiko drumming performances, Japanese dance troupes, and hula presentations to the street. Free street entertainment runs afternoons and evenings on Friday and Saturday near the International Market Place and along the Waikiki Beach Walk. This is one of the largest cultural exchange events of the year in Hawaii, honoring the deep ties between Hawaii and Japan through live performance.
The Royal Hawaiian Band performs its weekly free concert at Kapiolani Park Bandstand on Friday afternoon — doors open at 12:30pm, performance at 12pm. One of the most consistent free cultural experiences on the island. Saturday morning brings the KCC Farmers Market at Kapiolani Community College from 7:30 to 11am — the finest weekly market in Hawaii with fresh tropical produce, hot food, and flowers.
Maui
The Maui Swap Meet at UH Maui College in Kahului runs Saturday morning from 7am to 1pm — a massive outdoor market with produce, crafts, aloha apparel, and local food vendors. It's the most affordable and authentic shopping experience on Maui, drawing locals for fresh vegetables, Filipino foods, and homemade snacks at real prices.
The Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului has performances scheduled through the week — check mauiarts.org for specific showtimes and ticketing. The outdoor A&B Amphitheater is an excellent venue for evening concerts when trade winds are blowing. The Upcountry Farmers Market in Makawao runs Saturday 7–11am at Eddie Tam Memorial Center — the best place on Maui to find Kula strawberries, Upcountry herbs, and farm-fresh flowers.
Big Island
The Hilo Farmers Market runs Wednesday and Saturday at the corner of Mamo Street and Kamehameha Avenue — one of the state's largest, with rambutan, longan, Big Island avocados, and Hamakua mushrooms. Wednesday is smaller but significantly less crowded than Saturday. In Kailua-Kona, the Ali'i Gardens Marketplace hosts its regular Saturday and Sunday farmers market from 8am to 4pm on Ali'i Drive, with fresh produce, Kona coffee direct from farms, and tropical flowers.
Kauai
The Kauai Community Market at Vidinha Stadium in Lihue runs Saturday from 9:30am to 1pm — the island's largest regular market. The North Shore remains accessible this week via the Ha'ena State Park advance reservation system; book day-use parking at gostateparks.hawaii.gov if you're planning a Kalalau Trail day hike or Ke'e Beach visit. Tunnels Beach and Anini Beach on the North Shore are reliably calm for snorkeling in June's light south swells.
Statewide: Ocean Conditions This Week
June brings flattening conditions to the North Shore across all islands — ideal for swimmers and beginner surfers who want to experience legendary breaks at manageable size. South swells are building toward their summer peak. Waikiki's gentle surf and calm Ala Moana lagoon offer the best beginner surfing windows of the year. Water temperatures are approximately 78–80°F statewide — wetsuits unnecessary. Check surf forecasts at surfline.com or the National Weather Service Pacific Region forecast before heading to any exposed beach.
