Hawaii Farmers Markets Schedule 2026 — Day-by-Day, All Islands
Hawaii's Farmers Market Culture
Hawaii's farmers markets are among the finest in the United States — and not just because of the setting. The volcanic soil, year-round growing season, and the state's extraordinary biodiversity mean Hawaii markets carry tropical fruits, vegetables, and products that don't exist at any mainland market. Here's a day-by-day breakdown of the best regular markets across all islands.
Oahu Markets by Day
Saturday is the biggest farmers market day on Oahu. The KCC Farmers Market at Kapiolani Community College (4303 Diamond Head Road, 7:30am–11am) is the island's best, with over 80 vendors selling produce, hot food, flowers, and specialty items. Arrive by 8am — Hamakua mushrooms, Shinsato pork, and Waialua cacao products sell out fast. The Haleiwa Farmers Market on Oahu's North Shore (Waimea Valley, Saturdays 9am–1pm) is a smaller but beautiful market with a strong local farming community and live Hawaiian music.
Wednesday: The Kapiolani Community College Wednesday Market (7:30am–11am) is a smaller, more produce-focused version of the Saturday market — great for weekday visitors. Thursday: The Kailua Town Farmers Market (Thursdays, 5–7:30pm) is a community evening market on the windward side, popular with local families for after-work shopping. Sunday: The Honolulu Farmers Market at Blaisdell (Neal Blaisdell Center, Sundays 8am–12pm) is the second-largest regular market on the island, with strong representation from small Oahu farms and artisan food producers.
Maui Markets by Day
Saturday: The Upcountry Farmers Market at Eddie Tam Memorial Center in Makawao (Saturdays, 7am–11am) is Maui's best market, featuring growers from the cool, fertile Kula slopes — fresh strawberries, Kula onions, lavender, mixed greens, and flowers you can smell from the parking lot. The Maui Swap Meet at UH Maui College in Kahului (Saturdays, 7am–1pm) combines produce with crafts and used goods — one of the most authentic local shopping experiences on Maui.
Wednesday and Saturday: The Honokowai Farmers Market in West Maui (across from Honokowai Beach Park, Mondays and Thursdays) caters to the condo-vacation crowd in Kaanapali and Napili with fresh produce and flowers. Daily: The Maui Fresh Streatery and surrounding food trucks at Kahului serve breakfast through lunch most days.
Big Island Markets by Day
Wednesday and Saturday: The Hilo Farmers Market at the corner of Mamo Street and Kamehameha Avenue in downtown Hilo is one of the largest in the state, with over 200 vendors on Saturdays. Fresh ginger, rambutan, starfruit, Hamakua mushrooms, Big Island avocados, macadamia nuts from Honokaa, Kona coffee from farms just west of town — this is the market to visit if you can only visit one on the Big Island. A smaller Wednesday version runs with about 60 vendors.
Sunday: The Kailua-Kona Farmers Market at the Ali'i Gardens Marketplace (Saturdays and Sundays, 8am–4pm) serves the tourist corridor on the West Side with fresh produce, tropical flowers, and Kona coffee. The Waimea Town Market in the Waimea town center (Saturdays, 7:30am–noon) draws Kohala Coast ranch country growers — excellent for grass-fed Big Island beef, locally grown vegetables, and Waimea's distinctive cool-weather produce.
Kauai Markets by Day
Saturday: The Kauai Community Market at Vidinha Stadium in Lihue (Saturdays, 9:30am–1pm) is Kauai's largest market. The Sunshine Markets are a network of county-organized markets at different locations each day of the week — the Kauai County website lists current locations and times. These are the most local-facing markets on Kauai, with minimal tourist traffic and genuine community atmosphere. The Saturday Sunshine Market in Koloa (noon–2pm) is popular with South Shore visitors.
What to Buy
- Lilikoi (passion fruit) — yellow or purple, eat raw or as jam/butter
- Longan and rambutan — Big Island tropical fruits most visitors have never tasted
- Kona coffee — single-estate beans sold directly by farmers at Big Island markets
- Fresh cut anthuriums and bird-of-paradise — inexpensive, can be checked as luggage on most airlines
- Poi — fresh poi from taro farms, best on the day it's made
