Hawaii State Farm Fair 2026: When, Where, What to Expect
Hawaii State Farm Fair 2026
The Hawaii State Farm Fair is held every year at Aloha Stadium in Halawa (between Honolulu and Pearl City) over the 4th of July weekend. In 2026 that is approximately July 3-5. It is organized by the Hawaii Farm Bureau and is the only agricultural fair in the state — a three-day celebration of Hawaii's farming heritage, local food, and rural community life.
What Makes the Farm Fair Different
The Hawaii State Farm Fair is genuinely rooted in agriculture. The Hawaii Farm Bureau uses the fair to connect urban residents with the farms and farmers who grow their food. In a state where 85-90% of food is imported from the mainland, this connection matters more than it might seem.
- Agricultural exhibits and competitions: Livestock shows featuring horses, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, and chickens. 4-H and FFA youth programs from across Oahu and neighbor islands bring their animals and projects to compete.
- Produce competitions: Hawaii-grown fruits and vegetables judged for size, quality, and presentation — everything from monster pumpkins to prize-winning macadamia nuts and tropical fruit varieties you may never have seen before.
- Plant and flower exhibits: Orchids, anthuriums, tropical plants, and Hawaii-grown specialty plants on display and for sale
- Farm Bureau information booths: Meet the farmers and learn where your Hawaii-grown food comes from
The Food
The Farm Fair food scene is one of the best of any outdoor event in Hawaii. Because the Hawaii Farm Bureau runs it, the emphasis is on locally grown and locally made: kalua pork plates made from Hawaii-raised pigs, shave ice with local fruit syrups and ice cream, Hawaii-grown corn roasted on-site, fruit smoothies made from Big Island and Maui tropical fruits, Portuguese malasadas, and local honey, jams, and preserves for sale at vendor booths.
Entertainment and Activities
- Live music and entertainment on the main stage throughout each day — typically Hawaiian music, contemporary local acts, and youth performances
- Pony rides and animal petting area for children
- Cooking demonstrations by local chefs using Hawaii Farm Bureau member products

Why It's Worth Going
The Farm Fair is one of those genuinely local events that reminds you Hawaii is more than hotels and beaches. The families showing their livestock have often been farming in Hawaii for generations. The 4-H kids presenting their projects represent a rural Hawaii that rarely appears in travel guides. And the food — made from Hawaii-raised animals and Hawaii-grown produce — tastes like it comes from somewhere real. Because it does.
The **Hawaii State Farm Fair** is the state's biggest annual celebration of agriculture, ranching, and country life. Held every summer at **Kualoa Ranch** on Oʻahu's windward side (since the New Aloha Stadium became unavailable).Looking for things to do in Hawaii? Browse upcoming events →
